This painting was a working progress of over 6 months. I was indecisive and not entirely happy with each layer, in the end it has around 8 layers. I started off with wanting a sunset theme using oranges and pinks but something was off, so I sat for a long time watching a sunset and from light to dark I loved the blues and the black of the horizon, hence the change in colours, it ended up being a combination of day and night.
